AbstractThe main aim of this work was to analyzed the narrow band normalized difference vegetation index (NB_NDVI) and linear combination between two narrow bands to estimate wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) grain yield. Field canopy reflectance measurements were acquired at six wheat growth stages over 80 plots with four wheat cultivars growing under five different nitrogen levels. Seven hundred and seventeen narrow bands between 350 nm and 2,500 nm with bandwidth of 3 nm were used. The results showed that linear combination between two narrow bands was better than NB_NDVI to predict grain yield. Best two narrow bands combinations were those for bands within the red and near-infrared wavelengths, respectively. Heading was the best growth stage to estimate grain yield.
